Tampa Bay condos and townhomes soared in price in January

Prices for condos and townhomes in the Tampa Bay area soared in January. According to Florida Realtors, the median price shot up almost 14 percent — to $170,000 — compared to an increase of just 3.8 percent for single-family homes. The number of sales of existing homes — condos, townhomes and single family — dropped more than 4 percent in January as the market continued to slow.
